Information Unit (hereinafter referred to as “the Unit”) maintains public relations with public authorities, non-governmental organizations, public information organizers and distributors, serves and provides them with information about the Institute's activities. The Unit ensures the functioning of the Institute's website, stores and analyses laboratory data, prepares report. The Unit handles information about Lithuanian and international standards, hygiene standards, test methodologies and normative documents, organizes procurement of research methodologies and standards; cooperates with libraries. The Unit has accumulated more than 1000 Lithuanian (LST), more than 100 international (ISO), and about 1000 the Russian Federation and other standards, which are used for the activities of the Institute. The Unit develops risk assessment information communication system for customers. The Unit plans to install a management system of standards, which will enable the Institute to transfer the management of standards in the digital environment. This system will provide better accessibility to standards and allows to provide a control of standard submission to responsible staff. In collaboration with other Units of the Institute, it plans to modify data reporting and analysis module of the laboratory information management system.
